KAOSSILATOR is an ideal performance instrument, opening the door for anyone to create quality phrases and beats. At its heart, KAOSSILATOR is a powerful synthesizer and phrase recorder under KAOSS X-Y pad control In addition to "theremin-esque" free-form sounds, the key, scale and beat can be set for expressive control. KAOSSILATOR is a phrase synthesizer based on Korg's KAOSS technology, using the X-Y pad to control the synthesizer in a fun, musical, and easy-to-use way! Simply set a tempo using either a drum pattern, one of the gated arpeggiator settings- or simply tap out a beat on the pad. Next, select a root note (key), the type of scale (major, locrian, minor, etc.) and choose a sound. Generally, the X-axis controls pitch; the Y-axis controls timbre. The KAOSSILATOR will record up to two bars of 4/4. After recording once, choose another sound and add another layer, and another, etc.
