I have been using 1200's to DJ for over a decade, previously with Serato. After countless broken or lost needles, bad wires, lost headphone adapters, poor mixers at clubs enough was enough. I had never liked using controllers, and then I tried this one. Its real cool. All you need to bring is the controller, the laptop, a USB cable, some RCA's or 1/4 inch to RCA and your headphones. It even has a plug for 1/8 inch headphones so you don't need to worry about the adapter!! In about 1 hour of practice I could mix perfectly on it, and I don't use the auto tempo lock. The slide bar works well for adjusting the tempo. You can even rewind / backspin with it! The built in effects work perfect, no need to worry if the venue has a Pioneer 800 or not, you have everything you need. Cue points, auto loop, loop rolls, 3 channel EQ all easy and flawless. Build quality feels good. And for the people complaining that the output is too low- this is rarely ever an issue, most likely NEVER an issue. You really are going to follow after someone who has the gain at max on both the channel and the master fader? No you actually aren't. For a controller that converted a lifelong 1200 user, and is far cheaper than buying a serato box, turntables, mixer, needles, etc this is a really really miniscule problem. I'd recommend this highly for anyone pro or amateur.
