I've owned edirol, m-audio, evolution and bunch of other controllers in the past, and I have to say that the keys on Alesis feel much smoother and responsive out of them all. It looks good, has big screen, knobs and sliders are very responsive and sturdy. It is quite slim, so it will save you a lot of space. The pads on the other hand, quite suck, if you hit them on the edge, they won't respond. There should be at least 8 of them, but oh well, they work great for muting tracks in Ableton, but that's not what I bought this keyboard for. Over all great price and great build quality, will hold it's value for years. And the manual should more than 4 pages long, seriously, are they trying to save paper or something. I considered Axim and MPK49, but I'm glad I went with this, it will save you space and perform same exact tasks.
